With inscription on recto: M. Gio. Batista del se(...) Vincentio Pitti, dott. an. 32, 1616 The following technical sheet of the work was created by Professor Sandro Bellesi as part of the inventory of the paintings of the Fattoria Franceschini. The work, of very modest quality, represents a member of the Pitti House in a severe black dress with turn-ups in the collar and sleeves in white lace fabric. Set in an undefined space with a red curtain and books in the foreground, the figure is depicted in three quarters with an eye to the onlookers. The low quality of the painting does not allow it to be given artistic authorship. The work is however to be placed in the context of Florentine painting of the early seventeenth century.
