Golden thread embroidered overcoat
Greek or Albania, 19th century
entirely embroidered with golden metallic threads composed of spirals and floral motifs, interior in striped red silk, worn as a popular female overcoat. A similar specimen is kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In October 2015, another similar garment was auctioned at Christie's in London.
