The Private Sale Department was created to meet the needs of those who prefer a more reserved way of selling than the classic auction.
Our team of experts will be able to work alongside you throughout the entire sale process and, after agreeing on the valuation of the property in custody, will start looking for potential buyers.
The entire operation will be carried out in the utmost confidentiality and the characteristics of the assets to be sold will be provided only to highly selected clients potentially interested in purchasing them.
The assignment for a Private Sale is for a fixed term - usually 60/90 days - and only if the negotiation is successful will Maison Bibelot retain a commission, previously agreed upon.
In this role, in addition to important sales between private individuals, Maison Bibelot has handled the sale to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism of Odoardo Borrani's painting, Interno del Museo dell'Accademia, which can be admired in the halls of the Florentine museum, and the sale of six important unpublished letters by Giacomo Leopardi, now preserved in the poet's home.
Similarly, those interested in purchasing particular goods are invited to inform the head of the Private Sales Department of their wishes.

Elisabetta Mignoni, a graduate in Modern History from the University of Florence, abandoned her university career in 1991 to devote herself to antiques at the Pitti Auction House, where she became passionate about the sector in her dual role as Head of the Antiques Department and auctioneer. In 1997, she founded Maison Bibelot. Passionate about history, especially of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, she has numerous publications to her credit. For the past few years, she has collaborated with the Palazzo Spinelli Institute for Art and Restoration, where she holds several courses dedicated to the world of auctions. She is a consultant to the Court of Florence. In addition to art, she is passionate about sailing and dedicates much of her free time to this activity.
