In this work of historical, antiquarian and historical-artistic subject matter, Gori collected published and unpublished sources of Tuscan history (deeds, documents, memoirs, recollections, reports, public deeds, registers, funeral orations, etc.). Although the title bears the indication "Volume I", it is the complete work: "This collection imagined and undertaken by Prop. Gori was not otherwise continued.
