A Shoushan stone seal with literary inscription, China, 18th–19th century

in honey-toned Shoushan stone, finely engraved on one side with the inscription “與賢者游，信足樂也；觀古人文，亦可大觀”, inspired by the spirit of Wang Xizhi’s Lanting Xu. The top is carved in relief with a crouching lion (bixie). The text embodies the Qing literati’s ideal of virtuous friendship and contemplation of ancient wisdom.
清 寿山石雕狮钮章 铭刻《與賢者游 信足樂也；觀古人文 亦可大觀》 以蜜色寿山石雕成，顶部雕伏狮钮，侧面阴刻铭文：“與賢者游，信足樂也；觀古人文，亦可大觀。” 此句承《兰亭序》意旨，寓文人交游之乐与观古开怀之心，为清代士人之雅趣。
