Group of seven thangkas, Tibet/Nepal, 18th–19th century
A group of seven thangkas painted on cloth with mineral and organic pigments, each mounted in brocaded silk borders. The set offers a broad representation of Tibetan Buddhist imagery, including wrathful protector deities, two concentric mandalas, ritual narrative scenes, biographical episodes, and depictions of meditational deities and lineage masters. The works display consistently high painting quality, with refined outlining, layered colours and extensive use of mineral gold. 藏 十八至十九世纪 七幅唐卡一组 七幅皆以矿物、草本诸色设绘,并饰织锦缎缘,所藴图像繁富:有忿怒护法腾威之相,有同心重环之坛城二幅,亦有战阵驰骤、神骑交陈之景,复有赤身本尊端严而坐,师承世系环列;并见陈叙修行、本生与供养诸事之大幅叙事。设色层层晕染,金彩点缀,笔法精整,具十八至十九世纪藏地绘制之高格范式。
