Two embroidered fan cases, China, Qing dynasty

One in satin with metallic bogu panjin couching embroidery; the other in nasha, a gauze-ground variant of the kesi tapestry technique, worked with the auspicious “Haiwu Tianchou” theme of cloud motifs, animals and pavilions. Both retain their original cords with red glass beads.

清代 盘金绣与纳沙缂丝扇套各一件 其一为缎地博古纹盘金绣;其一为纱地缂丝(nasha)“海屋添筹”纹,饰云气、瑞兽与楼阁。二者均配原装佩带与红色木珠子和琉璃珠饰。
